松澤宥氏は1964年6月「オブジェを消せ」という啓示を受けて以来、それまでの造形的な仕事から離れ、純粋観念の世界に入り文字を使った作品やパフォーマンスを国内外で発表。コンセプチュアル・アートの先駆者として世界的な評価を得ました。
2006年に没して以降も（享年84歳）その評価は変わらず、2009年にはニューヨーク近代美術館（MoMA）が開催した「アムステルダムの内外」展の一部として松澤氏が残した作品が紹介されるなど注目を集めています。
カスヤの森現代美術館では1995年4月に開館初の企画展として松澤宥氏の「量子芸術宣言」を取り上げ、2002年3月には2回目となる松澤宥展「80年問題・言明・公案」を開催いたしました。その後もグループ展に参加していただくなど交流を深め、継続的にその作品を紹介してまいりました。今回、2006-07年開催の追悼展を含め当館での過去3回の個展の出品作とコレクションを中心にパフォーマンスビデオ、書簡を含めた資料を展示し、その貴重な活動の一端をご覧いただきたいと考えております。
世界情勢が激しく変化し個人の価値観も多様化する中、ますます複雑になる現代社会にあって、松澤氏が作品を通じて発信し続けたメッセージが様々な社会問題と共に私達に投げ掛けられます。本展を通し、松澤氏の残したメッセージの「再読」が成されればと考えます。

Since having an epiphany “Vanish the Object” in June 1964, Yutaka Matsuzawa ceased his previous formative activities and started creating and showing purely conceptual pieces and performances featuring characters domestically and internationally. Matsuzawa thus attained a world-wide reputation as a pioneer of conceptual art.
Even after his death at age 84 in 2006, his works are still appreciated. MoMA introduced some of Matsuzawa’s works in “In & Out of Amsterdam” in 2009.
Museum Haus Kasuya presented Matsuzawa’s “Quantum Art Manifesto” in April 1995, as a first exhibition, and “Eighty years problem – GENMEI – KOUAN” in March 2002. We also have had chances to introduce his works in group exhibitions. In the present exhibition, his works presented in past three exhibitions – including his commemorative exhibition held in 2006 – 2007, performance video, and letters are shown as some aspects of his activities.
Messages Matsuzawa transmitted through his works are linked to various issues in the modern society. We hope Matsuzawa’s message is “reread” in this event.
